All Pillars

Productivity

Focused work and goal achievement

Overview

The Productivity Pillar measures your cognitive performance and effectiveness through deep work hours, task completion, and focus quality. The model is based on Cal Newport's Deep Work research [1] and Csikszentmihalyi's Flow theory [2].

Calculation
P = 0.40 × DW_norm + 0.35 × TC_norm + 0.25 × Fo_norm

Scientific Basis

Productivity is not measured by pure work time, but by the quality of focused work [1]. The weighting emphasizes deep work, as studies show that uninterrupted focus time is the strongest predictor of knowledge worker output [3]. The flow state described by Csikszentmihalyi [2] represents optimal cognitive engagement.

The weights are based on meta-analyses and may be adjusted in future versions.
